At Murrayside, we believe everyone deserves somewhere to feel at home.

 

We’re a busy, friendly community centre in the heart of south-east Ipswich, run by local people who care about this area and the people in it.​Every day, our building is buzzing with activity - from boxing and dance to youth clubs, Baby Sensory, fitness sessions, woodwork, coffee mornings and social clubs. Some people come here to get active, others to learn new skills, build confidence, meet new friends or just have a cuppa and a chat.

What we offer

• Space to grow – Rooms to hire for groups, classes, meetings and parties, plus a fully equipped kitchen and café.

• Get active – A well-equipped gym, fitness classes, boxing, martial arts and more - most at low cost or free.

• Learn and create – A woodworking workshop where you can pick up new skills, fix and make things, and get stuck in with friendly volunteers.

• Support and signposting – If you’re struggling, we can point you towards the right help or just be here to listen.

• For all ages – From young people building confidence and skills to older residents looking to stay social and active.

Our approach

We’re not here to tell people what they need - we ask, we listen, and we work with you to make things happen.

Lots of what goes on at Murrayside is dreamt up, led and run by local people, and we love it that way. It keeps our centre real, relevant and full of life.

We keep prices low (or free where possible), make sure our building is accessible, and try to remove any barriers so everyone can get involved.

Why we do it

Our neighbourhood has its challenges - unemployment, low income, and social issues can make life tough.

But we also know this community is full of energy, ideas and potential.

Murrayside exists to bring people together, spark new opportunities, and give everyone a safe, supportive place to belong.
